BE AWARE! LEARN TO SHIFT YOUR PERCEPTION INTO A NEW REALITY

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change!

Through observation we are able to gather all kinds of information.  From simple observations such as size or colors to much more complicated detailed observations such as behaviors or patterns; we have the ability of taking in loads of information.  This information then becomes part of our knowledge base, opinions and even belief system.  We have been using this particular process since very early in our development.

The way we use the knowledge gained through observations has a direct impact in how we see the world.  Two people who grow up in the same environment, surrounded by the same conditions will not necessarily have the same point of views.  The reasoning behind this statement is that it is not necessarily about what we are surrounded by, but what we choose to focus on, view and internalize.

REALITY IS AN ILLUSION!

Even when we share a simultaneous experience with someone else, it’s possible that our perception of that experience will be very different.  Therefore, the way we perceive each situation – and our lives – ultimately shapes our reality.  Given this, by learning to shift our perception, it becomes very possible to create a better and brighter reality for ourselves.

You need to recognize that if you are viewing life through a negative lens, you’ll see all the things that are wrong, ugly, and depressing in the world and you will continue to attract more of that to reinforce the lens that you are viewing the world through. 

The other side of the coin is that if you walk around looking for the beautiful, miraculous and inspiring, then that is exactly what you will find and manifest your reality.  Reality will be defined by our actions as the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.

What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are

Perceptions may sometimes be helpful and empowering, while other times will keep us repeating lessons and experiences which are less than positive and could be easily overcome with a shift in perspective.  How we perceive reality is based on several factors including beliefs, expectations, as well as past experiences. So if you want to change your reality… Change your perception!

HOW CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR PERCEPTION?

Awareness is the quality or state of being aware, the knowledge and understanding that something is happening or exists.  By being aware of the judgements you’re making, the beliefs you have, and how you are perceiving reality around you, you can start to change it.  Awareness can help you to make a conscious choice to start to look for the silver lining, the blessings and solutions.

Personal development can sometimes be a long process in which you establish your goals and take the action steps you have devised to take you closer to achieving success.  During this process it is very important to be grateful.  Gratitude is an essential part of the process of shifting your perception.

Lense Focus

Pay close attention to how you are feeling, and make an effort to fully understand why you feel the way you do.  Take time to get to know your patterns, thoughts, fears, self-talk as well as your triggers and reactions to situations.

Perception colors reality in all ways, and yet we all perceive reality differently.

Through increasing your awareness, and noticing how you perceive and relate to reality you can begin to notice whether your perceptions are supporting you in creating the life you want to experience, or keeping you from it.  If you aren’t perceiving your life in a positive, fulfilling, and inspiring light… Start by taking control of your mind!

Mindfulness and presence in the moment is one of the best ways to become more aware of what you’re thinking.  Release stressful, fear based and negative thinking into the light. Let go of everything that holds you back in your mind.

Once you’re released, then choose a positive new thought which is self-empowering and in alignment with what you want to create and experience in your life.  Use a constructive thought as a substitute for each limiting belief.

A great technique for this is to imagine you are drawing a circle around your negative thought, and then release the thought into the light. Once you’ve released and imagined it dissolving into the light, take a moment to affirm the opposite of the negative thought you just released.  Make it your goal to never let negative thoughts stay inside your mind.

Another great way to keep a positive perspective is to empower your habits.  If you naturally look for what’s wrong around you, start a daily ritual of counting your blessings on your way to work, or finding 10 things you’re grateful for, every time you brush your teeth.  Habits to help keep you healthy in areas such as exercise, diet, and hydration will also help keep your mind clear, aware, and ready to create positive change in all areas of your life.

Celebrate

Celebrate each of your successes, the steps you’ve taken, as well as the accomplishments of others.  This does not mean you have to throw a party every time you think a positive thought or take a step in the right direction. But do congratulate yourself for taking small steps, and also be happy when those around you are manifesting positive things in their lives.  Every achievement, no matter how small can be celebrated since it represents you being one step closer towards continued success.
